The Chelsea Flower Show is a Paradise for Flower and Plant Enthusiasts

The Chelsea Flower Shower, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), has been held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital since 1912.

Previously known as The Great Spring Show, it was first held in Kensington Garden in 1862. In 1888 it was moved to the Temple Gardens in the heart of London. The Temple Flower Show was cancelled in 1912 to accommodate the Royal International Horticultural Exhibition which was held on the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea.

This Chelsea site proved to be a great success and the Great Spring Show was transferred to the Royal Hospital grounds in 1913 and has remained here since. The advantage of the Royal Hospital grounds over the previous sites is that it is more spacious. Today it stands on an 11 acre site with great facilities and is able to accommodate 157,000 visitors each year.

The Chelsea Flower Show is the most famous flower show in the world. A spectacular explosion of colours and scents, and exceptional creativity, this flower show features the latest trends and ultimate design and ideas from the best of garden designers, nurseries, plantsmen and exhibitors. This event has also forged friendships between people thousands of miles apart, working towards the common goal of creating the most beautiful displays for the show.

This flower show is a popular event for the corporate calendar and many companies take the opportunity to indulge in corporate entertainment for business and social networking.
